Roseville is a city in Placer County, California, located in the metropolitan area of Sacramento. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 79,921. By June 30, 2005 the population had grown to 103,845 as part of the fastest-growing county in the state. Califorina Highway 65 goes through the northern part of the city with exits at Blue Oaks Blvd., Pleasant Grove, Stanford Ranch Rd./Galleria Blvd., and Interstate 80 Interchange. Interstate 80 also runs through the city at Riverside Ave./Auburn Blvd., Douglas Blvd., Eureka Rd., and Taylor Rd. Amtrak, the national passenger rail system, provides service to Roseville. The city's passenger rail station is located at 201 Pacific Street in the heart of town.
