Avon is a town in Eagle County, Colorado, United States. The population was 5,561 at the 2000 census. The town is the gateway to Beaver Creek Resort, about two miles south.In the town the population was spread out with 20.6% under the age of 18, 17.5% from 18 to 24, 47.1% from 25 to 44, 13.3% from 45 to 64, and 1.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 141.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 144.0 males.The median income for a household in the town was $56,921, and the median income for a family was $52,339. Males had a median income of $33,053 versus $30,703 for females.
