Marietta is located in Cobb County, about 15 miles Northwest of Atlanta and is just south of the North Georgia mountains. It was founded in 1834 and today it is a thriving, charming city with old world charm but modern amenities. It has a beautiful downtown square with antique shops and elegant boutiques, restaurants, with Glover Park the center of fun.
Marietta has a first-class education system which provides an atmosphere of learning for all citizens at all levels of education, including vocational schools and colleges.
From Civil War battlefields to museums and amusement parks, Marietta is host to a number of attractions geared to a wide variety of interests. Most of these attractions are open year-round, many at no charge. One not to be missed is the “Marietta Gone With The Wind Museum: Scarlett on the Square”.
