The racial makeup of the CDP was 83.79% White, 8.04% African American, 0.25% Native American, 5.73% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.65% from other races, and 1.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.81% of the population. There were 7,974 households out of which 14.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.5% were married couples living together, 6.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 58.2% were non-families. 45.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
