Oakhurst is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located within Ocean Township, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of the United States 2000 Census, the CDP population was 4,152. There were 1,397 households out of which 42.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.0% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.8% were non-families. 13.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.97 and the average family size was 3.28. The median income for a household in the CDP was $75,026, and the median income for a family was $78,206. Males had a median income of $56,756 versus $41,429 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $27,235. About 2.7% of families and 2.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.1% of those under age 18 and 2.6% of those age 65 or over. -- Source: Wikipedia.com
