Vandalia is 10 miles north of Dayton on Dixie Drive (U.S. Highway 25). It is between the Great Miami River and the Stillwater River. The city has been called the "Crossroads of America" due to its location on the National Road and the Dixie Highway. These correspond to U.S. Highway 40 and the now decommissioned U.S. Highway 25. Currently, Interstate 70 and Interstate 75 are Vandalia's most important highways. The cloverleaf interchange is currently undergoing reconstruction until 2008. Three of the four left turns are being reconstructed as ramps or tunnels in place of right 270° turns. Vandalia is located at 39°52'47?N, 84°11'37?W (39.879856, -84.193599)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 30.8 km² (11.9 mi²). 30.6 km² (11.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.59%) is water. -- Source: Wikipedia.com
