Duncan is a city in Stephens County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 22,505 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Stephens County. Duncan is known for crapemyrtle trees, Oklahoma prairie and rich farmland.[5] State lawmakers designated the city as Oklahoma's official "Crapemyrtle Capital".[6] Oklahoma's grasslands are made up of shortgrass, mixed-grass and tallgrass prairie.[7] The city is part of the Great Plains and has multiple lakes. Duncan receives 34 inches of rain per year, but only five inches of snowfall. The city also receives an average of 241 sunny days per year.
